UK Law Firm Magrath Protects Reputation With DR service

Magrath LLP has chosen Plan B DR, to provide a managed, virtualisation-based business continuity and disaster recovery service.

The service is able to restore Magrath LLP’s IT systems in minutes, offering complete business continuity, ensuring it’s business as normal – even during a major outage. Magrath LLP’s partners were convinced that the reputation and value of the practice would be far safer with Plan B DR’s solution.

Plan B sent Magrath LLP an intelligent snapshotting appliance that plugs into its network and automatically takes copies of its IT systems – without any need for further IT staff assistance or disruption. The image copies are then sent securely to a Plan B data centre, where physical to virtual conversion technology ensures that they run on their virtualised servers.
 
The newly created system images (rescue images) are automatically tested by Plan B to guarantee that, in the event of a system outage, they will boot up without trouble and be quickly available for Magrath LLP. The moment of truth arrived when the firm requested a full test recovery of its systems, this took Plan B under 30 minutes to complete a full working environment.
