Using Isilon’s NL-Series, Lincoln Center has unified a wide range of digital content and file-based data onto a single, easy-to-use, shared storage resource, streamlining content access and delivery to multiple LED and LCD signage displays throughout New York City. With Isilon scale-out NAS, Lincoln Center’s Inmagic Presto asset management system can immediately and reliably access, catalog and distribute content, enabling Lincoln Center to easily manage and update its digital advertising and box office signage displays across its many properties.
"As part of our initiatives to modernize and reinforce the vitality of Lincoln Center, we initiated a new digital signage project designed to inform and educate our patrons and visitors for years to come," said Rob Tarleton, CTO, Lincoln Center. "However, we didn’t have a storage solution capable of centralizing our content to make management, distribution and delivery seamless and cost-effective. Lincoln Center chose Isilon to provide us with this capability."
Lincoln Center is the world’s leading performing arts center, featuring 12 resident organizations presenting thousands of performances, educational programs, tours and other events each year in 26 separate performance venues on the Lincoln Center campus. As part of its 16 acre campus transformation, Lincoln Center initiated a next-generation digital signage project utilizing LED and LCD screens at different box offices, venues and outdoor locations throughout its properties in New York City.
By deploying Isilon scale-out NAS, featuring its OneFS operating system, Lincoln Center is aggregating content from multiple sources onto a single file system, providing its Presto system with immediate, reliable data access to streamline content distribution and delivery. Using Isilon’s SmartQuotas data management software, Lincoln Center can provision its Isilon system across different user groups and organizations, enabling highly concurrent data performance and more efficient system utilization. Additionally, Lincoln Center can purchase only what is necessary, while retaining the flexibility to grow its system on-demand as needs dictate.
"Lincoln Center has long been a driving force in entertainment by featuring the best and brightest of music, theater and more, while pioneering new styles and techniques that have made an impact the world over," said Sam Grocott, vice president of marketing, Isilon. "By using Isilon to streamline delivery of its next-generation digital signage initiative, Lincoln Center is once again leading the way, demonstrating that for any company needing to centralize file-based data for easy access and distribution, Isilon’s the way to go."
