HDS and Wipro Sign Technology Partnership

Hitachi Data Systems Corporation has entered into a strategic technology collaboration with Wipro Ltd., provider of IT and business transformation services, to offer co-branded products and services on Hitachi’s technology.

The charter is to jointly work on technology insights early in the cycle, co-develop products for the Indian market, and build strong solution sets, practices and services on core Hitachi technology. Commencing with Hitachi’s Adaptable Modular Storage 2100 (AMS 2100) range, this alliance will open up opportunities for growing organizations to adopt scalable, tiered, Enterprise class storage with a promise of optimal TCO, better utilization and ease of deployment. This is a first of its kind partnership that Hitachi has signed with any organization in India.

Speaking on the occasion, Kevin Eggleston, Senior Vice President and General Manager, APAC, Hitachi Data Systems said: "We are extremely confident that this partnership will establish a new milestone in the Indian storage arena. The Wipro-Hitachi AMS 2100 range is a cost effective, easy-to-use and scalable storage system with a rich set of features in a model that scales up to 120 disk drives and is apt for large and medium businesses. Assuring 99.999 percent data availability and no single point of failure, the Wipro-Hitachi AMS 2100 range has the ability to add capacity, connectivity and performance, and therefore is ideal for dynamic workloads such as a virtualization environment. This product will be immediately available in the market.
