Eversheds Embraces Cloud with Mimecast
For email archiving and security
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on June 18, 2010 at 3:05 pmMimecast has been selected by Eversheds LLP, a full service corporate law firms, to provide SaaS-based email security, continuity, policy control and archiving across all regions.
Eversheds LLP selected Mimecast’s Unified Email Management solution to provide enhanced business continuity, email archiving and security services as well as reducing the cost and complexity of handling the firm’s rapidly expanding email storage requirements. Eversheds has signed a three-year contract following a competitive tender process. The implementation of Mimecast’s Unified Email Management has already begun with Mimecast working alongside Eversheds’ on-premise archive solution to deliver a secure and easy-to-search record of all email communications, which will be accessible from within Microsoft Outlook.
With more than 4,500 users on the Eversheds’ IT system, the scale of the business is naturally a significant factor in the business’s IT strategy.
Paul Caris, CIO, Eversheds commented: "Mimecast provides us with a superb business continuity platform. There will inevitably be times when Exchange is unavailable, either for planned maintenance or other unforeseeable reasons. With Mimecast’s Unified Email Management we have the technological back-up to keep our people working during an Exchange outage with no disruption to the high quality services we provide to clients. Adopting a fully cloud-based solution will also enable us to make a cost-saving by eliminating the growing burden of email storage."
“We are delighted to announce this contract with Eversheds, which builds on our superb track-record in providing -cost-effective, ultra-reliable services to the legal sector,” commented Peter Bauer, founder and CEO of Mimecast. “According to the latest industry figures, email volume in organisations is growing by more than 30% per year and the average user now receives 7MB of data per day via email. Such rapid increases in storage requirements make on-premise storage and archiving an increasingly expensive and inefficient option and the most innovative law firms are turning to cloud to deal with these issues. A cloud computing solution, which reduces the cost and complexity of an organisation’s storage requirements, while improving functionality through instant search capability and automated compliance with industry regulations, can make a huge difference to an organisation. As businesses come under increasing pressure to retain all of their data and email communications in a safe and cost-effective manner, we expect adoption of cloud-based technologies to accelerate rapidly over the next 12 to 18 months.”
