The partnership with Fujifilm serves as a significant growth opportunity for Crossroads, as Fujifilm offers consistent sales successes, especially as the leader in the worldwide tape market. Specializing in supporting clients with large backup environments, Fujifilm’s sales and technical support teams can now provide organizations with professional tape environment services using the RVA’s powerful monitoring capabilities – enabling organizations to maximize their current infrastructure, reduce their operational storage costs, and ensure the recovery of their data stored on tapes.

Fujifilm’s tape environment services act as a powerful set of eyes that track a library environment for any critical events or conditions. Comprehensive reports and early warnings to serious conditions allow corrective actions to be scheduled before the situation becomes critical.

Services include:

  • Tape Environment Analysis – Provides real-time data collection, including I/O performance, drive usage, data packets and drive/media errors. The analysis also includes multi-sample data store, trend analysis, and error correlation. All information is included in a professional report that offers an executive summary for risks, efficiency, system health and areas of cost savings, as well as actionable recommendations.
  • Library Monitoring & Alert Service – Provides library environment visibility, including critical events from tape drives, as well as library-drive-tape interactions and conditions. Alerts also offer critical-, cautionary-, concern- and informational-level notices. Directive recommendations include possible root causes of triggers and focused information for troubleshooting. All functions allow tapes to remain the library, with data never leaving the tape drive.
  • Archive Verification Service – Provides offline validation of archives with no load on backup/applications servers or primary disk systems. Offering full reporting on media that includes overall media summation and individual media review, the service is policy or schedule based, with tape pools available to select media for verification. A consumption based service, each media verified consumes a license.

"Fujifilm is confident that CIOs, data center personnel and business end users within its customer base will highly value its professional tape environment services powered by Crossroads’ RVA," said Peter Faulhaber, Senior vice president of sales and marketing for Fujifilm Recording Media U.S.A. "The benefits of our new Tape Environment Analysis and monitoring service are clear – Fujifilm provides its customers with actionable reports to maximize efficiencies, reduce costs and prevent catastrophic data backup failures."

"Crossroads is pleased to announce its partnership with Fujifilm," said David Cerf, executive vice president of business and corporate development at Crossroads Systems. "The level of insight RVA provides is an industry first. Fujifilm’s deployment of RVA and its accompanying professional services underscore our innovation and industry leadership, helping Fujifilm’s clients throughout North America reduce costs, improve performance and ensure data protection for their vital backup environments."
