Three New SANBlaze Ethernet Cards

For ATCA computing environments

SANBlaze Technology, Inc. announced the addition of three new networking cards to its portfolio of storage and networking embedded computing building blocks. Two new AMC modules provide quad port 1GbE or dual port 10GbE connectivity, while a new RTM provides ten 1GbE ports.

SB-AMC59 Quad Gigabit Ethernet module with SSD

The SB-AMC59 is a slot saving solution for Ethernet connectivity and storage requirements. The AMC 59 includes four 1 Gigabit (10/100/1000) Ethernet ports via RJ45 front panel connections. The card connects via PCI-E Gen2 to the AMC connector. Optionally, the SB-AMC59 can be configured with one or two SSD modules via AMC .3 signaling. For applications requiring storage and additional Ethernet connectivity, the SB-AMC59 provides both in a single, mid height AMC slot. This combination combines two common AMC site usages into one card, leveraging valuable AMC slots with dual functionality. Without a disk, the SB-AMC59 offers the best price for a quad port, 1GbE AMC in the market.

The SB-AMC58 is a dual port 10 GbE AMC card based on the latest Intel 10 GbE network controller. This card connects two external 10 GbE networks or devices via PCI-E Gen2 to the AMC connector. The module has drivers for all major operating systems. The card is also the first in the ATCA industry to be FCoE capable, which enables 10 GbE networks to carry Fibre Channel protocol, ensuring future designs can participate with this emerging networking standard.

The SB-RTM440 is a Rear Transition Module (RTM) for AdvancedTCA systems. The SB-RTM440 offers 10 independent GbE ports, with networking features for enterprise ATCA applications, including support for multi-core processors and optimizations for server virtualization. The SB-RTM440 utilizes two PCI Express x4 buses to connect with multiple independent Ethernet controllers. The RTM combines eight 1000Base-T Ethernet connections, and two 1000Base-X SFP transceiver ports accessed on the RTM back panel. The SB-RTM440 is designed specifically to work with the RadiSys Promentum ATCA-4500 blade, but can be easily customized to interface with additional ATCA processor blades.

Samples of the SB-AMC58 and SB-AMC59 Networking AMC modules will be available in June. The SB-RTM440 is available immediately.
