IBM Tivoli Storage FlashCopy Manager V2.2

Supports DB2, Oracle, Exchange and SQL Server databases.

IBM Tivoli Storage FlashCopy Manager V2.2 is designed to deliver data protection for business-critical databases via integrated application snapshot backup and restore capabilities.

The databases supported by Tivoli Storage FlashCopy Manager V2.2 are IBM DB2, Oracle, Microsoft Exchange, and Microsoft SQL Server. In addition, IBM DB2 and Oracle databases are supported for use either with or without SAP environments.

This capability is achieved through the utilization of advanced IBM storage hardware snapshot technology to help create a high performance, low impact application data protection solution. It is easy to install, configure, and deploy, and seamlessly integrates with IBM System Storage DS8000, IBM System Storage SAN Volume Controller, and IBM XIV Storage System products.

For Microsoft Windows environments, Tivoli Storage FlashCopy Manager V2.2 also supports other Microsoft Volume Shadow Copy Services (VSS)-capable hardware such as IBM System Storage DS3000, DS4000, and DS5000.

Tivoli Storage FlashCopy Manager V2.2 offers enhanced support for business-critical applications by helping users to fully utilize various hardware capabilities with simplified management.

New in V2.2:

  • Supports Microsoft Exchange 2010
  • Supports Microsoft SQL Server 2008 Release 2
  • Extends support for IBM DB2 and Oracle databases (with or without SAP environments) to new platforms (Solaris SPARC and Linux x64)
  • Integrates with other critical business applications by providing customization paths that users can utilize for IBM AIX, Linux, and Solaris SPARC
  • Provides new database cloning support for UNIX clients to help users perform tasks that are not directly tied to backup and recovery procedures such as quality assurance, education, and data mining

Optional integration with IBM Tivoli Storage Manager can help you leverage a broad range of advanced data protection and data reduction capabilities such as data deduplication, progressive incremental backup, hierarchical storage management, and centrally managed policy-based administration.
