Ian Stretton European Sales Director of Channel Chargers

“As Channel Chargers has grown, it has become increasingly important for us to establish a presence in Europe to better serve our clients,” stated John Boyken, President of Channel Chargers. “Now, with Ian in place, we are able to help our U.S. clients more effectively penetrate overseas system integrator channels, as well as assist European vendors who are targeting expansion into American channels.”
Stretton, a UK native, has a long history of success in information technology both from a technical and sales perspective. During his 25 year career, Stretton has worked for a variety of companies including Seagate Technology, Fujitsu Software, and Raytheon among others.
“I am pleased to be a part of Channel Chargers, and am already working with major resellers and vendors throughout Europe,” said Stretton. “Channel Chargers has everything in place from marketing to deal registration programs, so the acceptance level among partners and potential partners, has been very high.”
Channel Chargers was formed by a team of professionals who, for over a combined 50 years, have managed highly successful channel sales and marketing efforts for global IT market companies. Two of the company’s principals have extensive experience in international business. Boyken lived in Europe for 6 years, starting Overland Storage’s EMEA business from scratch and growing it to more than $40m in annual sales. While in Europe for Overland, Boyken added OEM, distribution and reseller accounts to ensure maximum contribution from all channel segments. Vice President of Sales Annika Hafner, a native of Austria, was responsible for Asia and Europe operations during her six year tenure at GE Capital.
