Building on the benefits of Fusion’s solutions for the data center, customers running Oracle Enterprise Linux can now realize server consolidation through better system utilization and increased performance. These improvements lead to reduced floor space and power consumption, as well as significantly lower capital and operating costs.

Available as open source, Oracle Enterprise Linux is free to download, use and distribute. Linux users can get support for their Enterprise Linux environments through the Oracle Unbreakable Linux Support program, which offers enterprise-class support for Linux at significantly lower cost.

The Oracle Unbreakable Linux Support program and Oracle Enterprise Linux continue to gain momentum with customers and partners,” said Monica Kumar, senior director OpenSource Product Marketing, Oracle. “By collaborating with our partners such as Fusion-io, Oracle continues to focus on helping customers deploy better, faster and cheaper Linux solutions.”

Customers are demanding compatibility and support so their Oracle Enterprise Linux environments can take full advantage of Fusion’s Flash Memory technology and Oracle’s strong footprint in Linux,” said Jim Dawson, senior vice president of worldwide sales for Fusion-io.

Oracle is a world-class provider of Linux-based systems and support, and it has been exciting to collaborate with them to achieve this significant value proposition for our mutual data center customers,” said David Flynn, CEO of Fusion-io. “We look forward to continuing to expand our relationship with Oracle and working with the company to drive data center innovation through the evolution of this emerging flash memory tier.

Fusion-io is also a Gold level partner in the Oracle PartnerNetwork.
