Storage at $554 million, -8% compared to previous quarter

For its fiscal quarter (1Q11) ended April 30, 2010, Dell Inc.‘s storage revenues – services not included – reach $554 million compared to $534 million or +4% from the same period one year ago and $599 million or -8% compared to the previous quarter. Storage continues to represent 4% of the company’s total sales.

Servers, storage and services revenue grew yearly a combined 38% reaching $4.2 billion from a year ago.

Commenting these financial results, Brad Anderson, senior VP of Dell’s Enterprise Product Group, said:" As a whole, our storage revenue was up 4% to $554 million. EqualLogic and PowerVault led our revenue growth up 78% and 21% respectively. More importantly our storage product mix delivered better contribution margins. On acquisitions, the integration of Exanet and KACE are going well. Exanet provides us key file storage technology for our unified storage platform and KACE gives us a nice, easy to use system management platform for the mid market."
