MTI Launches Cloud Backup as a Service
In Europe
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on May 11, 2010 at 3:02 pmMTI unveiled its Cloud Backup as a Service (BaaS) offering for businesses, one of four new service sets to be launched under the MTI Insight Services banner. The other three groups will be MTI Consult (Consultancy Services), MTI Create (Project Services) and MTI Care (Customer and Managed Services). Unlike competing products the MTI Cloud Backup service hosts all data in Europe, ensuring its customers can comply with the local legislation by not letting data out of the continent. The service offers automated, secure and encrypted online backup and recovery allowing businesses to protect their data off-site at the provider’s fully redundant data centres.
MTI’s Cloud Backup service enables organisations to benefit from maximum data availability without the costs associated with an in-house server and desktop/laptop backup strategy, significantly lowering CAPEX (no infrastructure) and OPEX (no dedicated staff). The service, ideal for distributed and remote office environments, offers a wide selection of additional business-level features such as fast seed backups and restores, plug ins for SQL Exchange and other server platforms, and a range of archiving options that allow organisations to keep month ends data online or migrate it to tape for long-term retention, further easing their compliance strategies. Thanks to its flexible technology, the service grows and evolves with the customer’s needs to meets the needs of small, medium, and large organisations alike.
“MTI has a strong heritage in data storage and protection, as business models change we are adapting our offerings accordingly, starting with our cloud-based backup service, one of the strongest corporate offerings of its type currently available,” said Tony Conway VP Services for Europe at MTI Europe. “We have packaged this service to include enterprise-level features and relevant additional services to make it stand out from the crowd.”
