The software’s data life cycle management technology is designed to eliminate the dependency on back-up by securely archiving unstructured data across tiers of storage. StorFirst EAS’ new 3.7 release offers support for a wide variety of cloud storage platforms including EMC Atmos, AT&T Synaptic Storage as a Service, Terremark vCloud, Hosted Solutions’ Stratus Trusted Cloud, and Iron Mountain. Additionally, the new version will offer support for VMware, Windows 2008, and NAS/DAS as a target.

"This software release is particularly important for us, in that it gives our customers more options than they’ve ever had before," said Bobby Moulton, President and CEO of Seven10. "With version 3.7, customers can run StorFirst EAS on VMware or Windows 2008, access the cloud without integration hassle, and optimize cloud performance by deploying it in a shared infrastructure environment alongside traditional forms of storage like FC disk, CAS, or tape."

StorFirst EAS offers multi-petabyte scale with support for billions of files and directories. This software-only technology provides applications with unfettered access to storage through a standard CIFS/NFS/HTTP presentation. As data passes through the StorFirst EAS share, the software can replicate to multiple targets simultaneously for built-in disaster recovery and replication.

StorFirst EAS is ideal for healthcare, government and financial institutions that need to adhere to strict compliance regulations. The software creates an indelible, write-protected archive that also supports lifespan, MS Active Directory, and retention policies that ensure best use of storage resources. Flexibility is achieved through the software’s native integration with FC disk, cloud, iSCSI, SATA, NAS, CAS, tape, and VTL.

Seven10 began developing the original version of StorFirst EAS in 2001. Over the past several years, the company has made several cutting-edge enhancements to the technology resulting in global adoption by hundreds of customers worldwide.
