Willow Starcom Launches Workplace Recovery Centre

Covering North of England

Part of Access Intelligence plc, Willow Starcom, an IT network and storage solutions provider, has opened a fully equipped Workplace Recovery Centre, so that businesses of all sizes may rest assured that they can be up and running immediately in event of fire, flood, building damage, theft, vandalism or major IT hardware failure.

It’s a sign of our times and changing world conditions that small to medium businesses need to anticipate fast relocation to fully equipped alternative premises. Insurance alone is not enough to keep businesses that are forced, through totally unforeseen events, to relocate. Quite simply, they cease to be able to trade. What we are offering companies through the Workplace Recovery Centre is minimal disruption to business operations,” noted Darren Harrison, Technical Director, Willow Starcom.

The Centre effectively offers firms total peace of mind that their business infrastructure is covered should disaster strike and a replacement infrastructure be required. Everything is catered for, from pre-equipped workstations and desk space, to dedicated rack space in the Centre’s secure server rooms through to provision of basic essentials like kitchen use. Ongoing flooding throughout the UK, coupled with disasters like Buncefield Oil Disaster, where 90% of neighbouring businesses went into liquidation through lack of premises, infrastructure and critical data loss, illustrate the need for companies to adequately plan for business continuity.

The Centre is designed to serve customers throughout the whole of the North of England, including those with branch offices.

Darren concludes: “What we are increasingly seeing is demand from companies who have a watertight DR plan for their head office in the South of England but who wish to extend Disaster Recovery to incorporate Northern branch offices. This is an ideal affordable encompassing solution for them.”
