C.K. Chan VP of APAC Sales for Isilon

Former Data Domain and NetApp executive

Isilon Systems, Inc. appointed former Data Domain and NetApp executive Chee Keong (C.K.) Chan as vice president of sales in APAC, reporting to George Bennett, senior vice president of worldwide field operations.

Prior to joining Isilon, Mr. Chan most recently served as Data Domain’s Senior Director for its Asia Pacific operations. Prior to Data Domain, Chan served as NetApp’s Managing Director and General Manager for South Asia, where he grew revenue from less than $6 million in 2002, to more than $60 million in 2006.

"As scale-out NAS continues to deepen its penetration into the mainstream enterprise, we are witnessing increased traction for our value proposition both domestically and internationally, presenting a significant market opportunity for our solutions," said George Bennett. "Mr. Chan has a proven track record of success in leveraging international channel partnerships to drive rapid revenue growth, further bolstering our ability to address the market opportunity for scale-out NAS."

"I am truly excited to be joining the Isilon team," said C.K. Chan. "Having been able to help lead Asia Pacific operations for both NetApp and Data Domain during periods of growth and expansion, I see similar potential for Isilon’s scale-out NAS solutions. With increasing market validation for our unique value proposition, I am looking forward to capitalizing on the customer demand in Asia Pacific by delivering solutions that improve business performance and reduce costs."

Mr. Chan served as Data Domain’s Senior Director for Asia Pacific from 2007 to 2009, where he was responsible for growing revenue from nearly zero to more than $10 million and managed all aspects of the company’s sales operations in the region, including direct and channel operations, professional services and systems engineering. Prior to 2007, Mr. Chan served as NetApp’s Managing Director and General Manager for South Asia from 2002 until 2006.
