SolarWinds Integrates Recently Acquired Tek-Tools Profiler

SolarWinds, provider of IT management software to more than 90,000 customers worldwide, has taken the steps to integrate the recently acquired Tek-Tools’ Profiler suite of products into the company’s  product portfolio. These updates are designed to make the storage and virtualization management products more accessible to customers of all sizes – companies with 100+ employees – who are increasingly looking for solutions that offer them control and visibility across the entire IT infrastructure.

Typically, comprehensive IT management – from network to applications, and systems to storage – has been a concern for only the largest of enterprises, the Global 2000. As more and more small and mid-sized companies begin to deploy cost-saving IT technologies, like virtualization, and develop business policies that require significant data retention strategies, these companies need solutions that can help them get visibility and control across the stack.

SolarWinds is working to build a suite of solutions that are designed to simplify the task of storage management while also providing the extended visibility needed in today’s complex, multi-vendor environments, easily and affordably.

The SolarWinds Orion product family has long offered companies of all sizes network, systems and application management through products such as Orion Network Performance Monitor (NPM) and Orion Application Performance Monitor (APM). The SolarWinds Profiler suite adds deeper storage and virtualization management to the SolarWinds portfolio, delivering broader IT management capabilities and increasing IT organizations efficiency and responsiveness.

Key changes to the Profiler Suite:

• Availability and Evaluation: The SolarWinds Profiler suite is now available on the SolarWinds website, complete with the product videos, detailed pricing and product information and downloadable product experience that SolarWinds’ customers have come to expect from the company. The company also worked to improve the initial evaluation experience for users interested in trying the Profiler products before buying.
• Product Portfolio: The Profiler products have been consolidated into three offerings – Storage Profiler, Server and Virtualization Profiler and Backup Profiler – to optimize features and usability.
• Licensing and Pricing: New product licensing for Storage Profiler is easy to understand and the pricing is straightforward and upfront. SolarWinds now offers disk-based licensing that enables monitoring for most, if not all, storage devices regardless of the vendor.

SolarWinds has also lowered
the entry price for the Profiler suite:

• Storage Profiler: Companies can now access industry-leading, multi-vendor real-time storage monitoring, reporting, alerting and forecasting for DAS, NAS, and SAN systems starting at $2,995 for 50 disks;
• Backup Profiler: Starting at $500, users can get centralized backup management software that works with all major backup applications, operating systems and storage technologies to provide a consolidated view of the user’s entire storage network.
• Server and Virtualization Profiler: IT teams interested in a consolidated view into the physical server performance, along with VMware cluster, host, and virtual machine performance, can get started at $1995 for 10 servers.
• All pricing includes the first year of maintenance.
