Newegg Exclusive Retailer of WD 600GB VelociRaptor HDD

Through the month of April, Newegg.com and Newegg.ca will be the exclusive retailer for the release of the brand new Western Digital 600GB VelociRaptor HDD. This makes Newegg, Inc., the second-largest online-only retailer in the U.S., the first to offer the drive in North America.

This is big news for PC gamers and power builders. With a drive speed of 10,000 RPM, the VelociRaptor is the fastest gaming hard drive on the market. The drive uses a SATA-3 interface which makes its bandwidth much larger than a traditional hard drive. This brand new HDD also features 600GB of storage space, effectively doubling the capacity of Western Digital’s earlier model.
