Sepaton Supports Symantec NetBackup OpenStorage API

SEPATON, Inc. demonstrated support for Symantec’s NetBackup OpenStorage (OST) application programming interface (API) with its S2100-ES2 virtual tape library and DeltaStorn deduplication software at Symantec Vision 2010. This demonstration facilitated backup to disk without emulating tape, streamlining the backup process for joint customers.
 
Additionally, SEPATON’s Director of Advanced Technology, Dennis Rolland, presented a session titled Innovative Deduplication Controls Costs and Cuts Capacity without Impeding Performance at the event.

SEPATON’s suite of data protection solutions is fully compatible with Symantec NetBackup. To date, SEPATON and its channel partners have deployed solutions in over 1000 customer sites and currently have more than 100PB of data under protection with Symantec NetBackup solutions.
 
SEPATON plans the availability of OST support in the second half of 2010.
