Vyatta Partnering With Riverbed

Vyatta, in open networking and network virtualization, announced a partnership with Riverbed Technology.

Through the partnership, Vyatta will offer the Vyatta Subscription Edition router, firewall and VPN software running on the Riverbed Services Platform (RSP), a virtualized data services platform that allows customers to deploy best-of-breed edge services in a single appliance. This partnership enables branch office consolidation and lowers overall IT costs by delivering WAN optimization and comprehensive routing together.

Riverbed WAN optimization solutions increase application performance, enable consolidation, and provide enterprise-wide network and application visibility – without the need to increase bandwidth, storage or servers. Vyatta Subscription Edition open networking is optimized to run on standard x86 hardware and current virtualization platforms, including the RSP, allowing organizations unmatched affordability and flexibility in connecting their infrastructure.

The Vyatta Subscription Edition implements full router features running on the RSP.
