MTI Film Selects Rorke Data RAID Platform
To handle storage-intensive workflow of digital dailies production and delivery
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on April 19, 2010 at 2:54 pmRorke Data Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Bell Microproducts, announced that MTI Film, the developer of Control Dailies, has selected Rorke’s Galaxy Aurora RAID platform. With an MSRP starting at under $1/GB and sustained transfer rates of 2300 MB/s, the Aurora RAID is ideal for high-resolution, multi-stream post-production environments, and is already deployed at MTI Film customer facilities. The Galaxy Aurora is also a key component in-house at MTI, giving the company the ability to handle the storage-intensive work load of digital dailies production and delivery.
Control Dailies is a complete solution for digital and film dailies processing consisting of an integrated family of products for handling every step of the dailies workflow from hand-off to delivery. Control Dailies gives facilities the ability to simultaneously ingest, review, synchronize, color correct, and output material. This requires a consistently high bandwidth, and Rorke Data allows MTI to configure a Galaxy Aurora with up to 4 simultaneous HD 4:4:4 streams. This performance and reliability makes sure that, night after night, time-critical dailies can be completed without bottlenecks.
"The Galaxy Aurora from Rorke Data offers impressive performance at a very competitive price point," said John Stevens, director of engineering for MTI Film. "The Rorke Data team’s knowledge, experience and responsiveness have thoroughly impressed us, and we are pleased to be able to offer this option to our Control Dailies customers. Several of our customers successfully deployed the Galaxy Aurora earlier this year, and their experiences have made it easy for us to decide to use the solution for our in-house dailies environment. We also continue to recommend it to our customers."
"We are very pleased to have been selected by MTI Film, as their game-changing technology for cost-effective, efficient digital dailies management and delivery is attracting many new customers – as evidenced by the build out of their new state-of-the art facility in Los Angeles," said Joe Rorke, vice president of marketing for Rorke Data. "The Galaxy Aurora perfectly complements MTI Film’s mission to deliver very high-end post-production services to the broader growing market."
Available with a complete suite of service deliverables including onsite installation and 24 x 7 support, Galaxy’s RAID and NAS storage solutions can be purchased on the company’s web site.
