For broadcast applications
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on April 19, 2010 at 2:55 pmOmniBus Systems, provider of comprehensive broadcast automation, content management and workflow solutions, has added DataDirect Networks, Inc.‘ (DDN) S2A architecture to the range of storage platforms certified for use with the iTX automation and transmission platform in critical broadcast and media applications.
DDN’s xSTREAMScaler platform, together with the S2A9900 and S2A6620 storage systems, have been assessed in continuous use with iTX for resilience and data integrity during intensive media transfer activity. Certification by OmniBus indicates that server and storage products exceed the performance and reliability criteria for critical broadcast applications with iTX.
"DDN’s S2A storage is an excellent choice for iTX users, with outstanding capacity for content-intensive use in automation and transmission," said Richard Tyrell-Ead, vice president of support, OmniBus Systems. "The streaming optimizations, scalability and robustness of the S2A platform are a great match for iTX, in addition to also being energy- and space-efficient. DDN offers extremely versatile and powerful solutions for broadcast transmission, post-production and web distribution."
"DDN’s streaming-optimized file-based solutions are used across the industry to enable and accelerate real-time workflows for intensive applications," said Jeff Denworth, vice president of marketing, DataDirect Networks. "Innovative next-generation applications such as automation and transmission with OmniBus iTX are exactly the type of demanding use that DDN S2A storage technology was created for. The xSTREAMScaler platform offers iTX users a significant edge in creating leading-edge infrastructures for broadcast and streaming media delivery, with the confidence that comes from leveraging the industry’s highest-performing and most scalable solutions."
OmniBus iTX is the next-generation solution that makes the conventional broadcast automation, master control and playout chain obsolete. Combining and exceeding all the functions of a conventional chain in a single, integrated suite of software applications, iTX is flexible, open and feature-rich, and offers a significantly more configurable and responsive end-to-end solution for a wide range of operating environments. With market-beating support for SD and HD formats, and exceptional ability to integrate with third-party systems, iTX delivers the most powerful solution available while significantly reducing the investment required to launch and operate high-quality channels in broadcast, IPTV, mobile TV, disaster recovery and business continuity applications.
