In their native language
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on April 13, 2010 at 3:03 pmWuala, the online storage service from LaCie, will launch localized Web sites for five major European markets: France, Italy, Spain, Portuguese, and the Netherlands. Wuala’s decision to offer a localized experience in these markets is a critical advancement toward supporting its growing European user base. Now, existing and new users can store, share and access their files from anywhere in their native language.
Nearly one year after its acquisition by LaCie, Wuala has seen steady growth, storing over 150 million files. Through its innovative technology, Wuala can guarantee full reliability and security. All data stored in Wuala first gets encrypted on the user’s computer, then split up into fragments which are then stored redundantly on Wuala’s own reliable storage infrastructure and in the Wuala Cloud. Wuala protects the user’s privacy: The user’s password never leaves his computer so that no one – not even the employees at Wuala – can access private files or passwords.
This year Wuala and LaCie introduced a number of mobile and desktop storage solutions that come with additional gigabytes of Wuala online storage by providing users with a mix of local storage and secure, off-site and accessible online storage. LaCie has plans to expand this storage philosophy into future solutions.
