Aleratec Adds Sanitize

Aleratec, Inc. announced that its 1:1 HDD Cruiser hard disk drive duplicator is now capable of performing the same hard disk Sanitization features that are found in the company’s higher-end models.

The Aleratec 1:1 HDD Cruiser is an affordable professional hard drive duplicator that can quickly create clone hard drives, as well as give access to two hard drives through its USB 2.0 port. The new Sanitization features give users the additional power to securely decommission hard disk drives with a choice of three comprehensive sanitization algorithms:

• a one-pass overwrite,
• a three-pass overwrite with verify, or
• a seven-pass overwrite as per the Department of Defense 5220.22-M recommendation.

The unit is compatible with 3.5" internal SATA I/II hard disk drives and can accommodate 2.5" internal SATA I/II hard disk drives with optional adapters (P/N 350106), sold separately. Finally, the 1:1 HDD Cruiser features tool-less, easy-load hard drive bays and Non Scratch SATA connectors designed for greater than 50,000 swap cycles, minimizing worries about drive connection issues and damage to your hard disk drives.
