3Par Office in Bangalore, India
Headed by Arvind Khurana
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on April 9, 2010 at 3:31 pm3PAR has launched its first sales and customer service office in India and has named Arvind Khurana as country manager.
This move into India is intended to position 3PAR to meet growing demand for technologies to support cloud computing, the virtual datacenter, green IT initiatives, and enhanced infrastructure agility in an economy that has been expanding in the midst of a worldwide recession.
The opening of a new 3PAR sales and customer service office with 12 employees in Bangalore underscores the strength of the Indian economy, and the role that 3PAR intends to play in helping Indian organizations expand in an agile, efficient, and environmentally responsible way.
"Even as other portions of the world economy have shrunk due to the global recession, India has shown sustained growth," said Khurana. "However, Indian storage customers need cost-effective, flexible, and environmentally sustainable storage solutions to continue to fuel growth and increase cloud-based deployments. 3PAR Utility Storage is designed to help customers reliably get more for their storage dollar as they grow to keep pace with India’s economic expansion."
"The level of growth that India has experienced over the past year has made it a natural market for us, as these customers seek to expand their capabilities in datacenter virtualization and cloud computing while addressing the need for green IT alternatives and increasing business agility. This is precisely what 3PAR Utility Storage was designed to do. 3PAR InServ Storage Servers not only offer greater performance than traditional storage arrays, but they require up to 90% less administration, and – even more importantly – up to 75% less energy for power and cooling," said Khurana.
Based in Delhi, Khurana is responsible for overall sales execution for 3PAR in the country. He was formerly country sales manager for Collabnet Software, where he drove awareness of that company’s collaborative development environment. At Collabnet, Khurana also formed and led the company’s sales organization and forged strategic relationships with enterprise software vendors as well as some of India’s largest systems integration and consulting firms.
"Arvind’s business development experience as well as his deep contacts in India’s important systems integrator and professional services industries make him the ideal person to drive awareness and sales of 3PAR Utility Storage in this fast-growing market," said 3PAR President and CEO David Scott. "Designed from the ground up to deliver transformative levels of simplicity, agility, and efficiency for virtualized environments, we believe that 3PAR Utility Storage is the ideal platform to help Indian IT organizations address the unique demands of their virtual and cloud deployments while keeping down the capital, operating, and environmental costs of storing and managing their data."
The increased commitment to the Indian market is part of 3PAR’s growth strategy in the entire Asia Pacific region, which 3PAR views as critical to the company’s business agenda. Many of 3PAR’s global customers such as Credit Suisse, Savvis, and Verizon have stated plans to expand their presence in these markets and consolidate their businesses in countries throughout the region. 3PAR’s APAC headquarters, headed by Vaughan Woods, is located in Singapore.
