Masahiro Yamamura Chairman of Hitachi GST
Succeeding Hiroaki Nakanishi

Mr. Yamamura will retire from his current executive role at Hitachi GST and return to Hitachi, Ltd.
Mr. Yamamura will succeed Hiroaki Nakanishi as chairman of the Board of Directors. Mr. Nakanishi, who is now president of Hitachi, Ltd., served four years as Hitachi GST CEO.

Mr. Yamamura brings a wealth of business experience and hard drive industry knowledge to his new role, having successfully led our Japan operations through the company’s business transformation,” said Steve Milligan, president and CEO, Hitachi Global Storage Technologies. “His strategic guidance will be extremely valuable as we advance and strengthen our long-term leadership position in the storage industry.”
Since Mr. Yamamura joined Hitachi, Ltd. in 1974, he has held a number of senior management roles during his more than 35-year career with Hitachi. He served as chairman and CEO of Renesas Technology (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. before joining Hitachi GST in 2008. In his new role as chairman, Mr. Yamamura will be based at the Hitachi GST headquarters in San Jose, Calif.
