This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on March 30, 2010 at 3:05 pmNexenta Systems, Inc. announced the appointment of Rick Hayes as the vice president of technical operations.
In his new capacity, Hayes will manage the company’s technical infrastructure including support, IT and professional services. Since Nexenta’s products fully encompass virtualization as well as storage efficiency capabilities such as in-line deduplication, customer support often reaches far beyond the storage layer. The expansion of Nexenta’s management team will enable the company to continue to provide excellent customer and partner service despite growing at a record pace.
“I’ve been involved in the storage industry for a long time, and I’ve never seen a company with the velocity of adoption that Nexenta has already achieved”, said Hayes.
“Nexenta is reshaping the storage market with our disruptive value proposition and superior storage for virtualized environments,” said Evan Powell, Nexenta CEO. “Rick’s talent and extensive background in storage technologies and related services make him a natural choice to lead and grow our technical operations capabilities in complex virtualization and cloud environments.”
Hayes brings more than two decades of industry experience to Nexenta. He was previously the principal consultant for the data center practice at GlassHouse Technologies. At GlassHouse, he developed and managed strategic IT projects focusing on data center consolidations and migrations for enterprises in energy, finance, insurance and networking markets. Prior to GlassHouse, Hayes was director of global services at MaXXan, a leading innovator of intelligent storage network infrastructure products. In this role, he directed the company’s overall customer support strategy for all of MaXXan’s product lines, delivering measurable improvements in customer satisfaction and sustained revenue growth. Hayes has also served as director of global field operations at StorageNetwork and held management and leadership positions at Dynegy, Sprint Paranet, Minnesota Department of Military Affairs and the U.S. Army.
“I’ve been involved in the storage industry for a long time, and I’ve never seen a company with the velocity of adoption that Nexenta has already achieved,” said Rick Hayes. “With that growth comes a focus on building a foundation to continue to rapidly scale the company while always improving customer and partner support.”
