WhipTail Tech Partners With Consolidate IT

WhipTail Tech, provider of the Racerunner Tier 0 solid-state disk (SSD)-based SAN appliance, and Consolidate IT, an European value-added distributor (VAD) with expertise in IP storage, networking and HPC solutions, announced that the companies have signed an exclusive European distribution and support agreement.

With this partnership, WhipTail significantly increases its sales and marketing presence in the European marketspace, while Consolidate IT and its ecosystem of storage and virtualization VARs and customers gain access to the Racerunner solution, which dramatically accelerates enterprise data 10-30x, while also offering huge advantages to enterprises dealing with strict ‘Green IT’ concerns.

Internal and independent tests show that the use of Racerunner results in more than a 95 percent reduction in database report generation and load time compared with traditional magnetic disks. Racerunner also reduces capital costs by more than 50 percent, cuts power costs by 90 percent, reduces footprint by 80 percent, and is the first solid-state appliance to offer in-line primary storage deduplication functionality while dramatically lowering cost per GB.

The 2U Racerunner solution is available in 1.5, 3.0 and 6.0 TB (Racerunner 1500, Racerunner 3000 and Racerunner 6000 respectively), as well as varying levels of redundancies. Racerunner is designed to drastically reduce disk contention and access times, allowing database or virtualization servers to process more data in dramatically less time.
