78% of HDS Customers Saw Payback on Virtualization Investments in 6 Months

Hitachi Data Systems Corporation released the results of independent, third-party research across Hitachi Data Systems solutions. Research results indicate Hitachi Data Systems customers have seen impressive returns on their storage assets. Of customers surveyed, 78 percent have seen a payback on their virtualization technology investments as early as 6 months. In addition, 86 percent of Hitachi Universal Storage Platform V and VM family customers have increased their performance 10 to 25 percent compared to other enterprise storage systems in their prior environment.

TechValidate, an independent research organization, conducted the study of Hitachi Data Systems customers to collect financial and operational data about several Hitachi storage solutions. Hitachi Data Systems technologies and solutions surveyed include Hitachi Universal Storage Platform V and VM family, Hitachi High-performance NAS, Hitachi Data Protection Suite, Hitachi Storage Command Suite, Hitachi Adaptable Modular Storage family and Hitachi Content Archive Platform which was renamed Hitachi Content Platform.

In this 2009 study, TechValidate determined that:

• 78 percent of IT organizations surveyed were paid back on their Hitachi virtualization solution investment between 6 and 12 months (Source: TechValidate, TVID: A08-A3B-140)
