Through this partnership, the Nashville Technology Council and Data Mountain will market and promote Data Mountain’s LiveVault Online Data Backup and Recovery Service to customers as its endorsed solution for secure, online data backup and server disaster recovery.

Data Mountain’s LiveVault was selected to be in the Nashville Technology Council Marketplace because it offers a proven online data backup and recovery service,” said J. Tod Fetherling, President and CEO, Nashville Technology Cou  ncil. “The LiveVault Online Data Backup and Recovery Service is an attractive solution for our members because it provides secure data protection, without the hassles of managing the data backup process. Data Mountain, backed by Iron Mountain Digital, also offers our members the superb customer service experience, which they expect and deserve.”

The LiveVault Online Data Backup and Recovery Service automatically and continuously backs up business and customer data stored on servers via a secure Internet connection in two of the most highly secure facilities in North America. Iron Mountain designed this service for businesses that have primarily relied on in-house tape and disk backups in the past, but now need the less resource-intensive data protection that an online service like LiveVault provides.

Historically, many small and medium size businesses have used traditional tape backup and, in some cases, on-premises disk-to-disk backup to secure their data. These methods of backup were simply not reliable, were riddled with errors and data did not automatically go offsite. According to a recent industry study by Storage Magazine, only half of all businesses ever test their backup process for recoverability, and of those that do, an alarming 77 percent found they are unable to fully recover their data from those tapes or disks. Even more frightening, research shows that 50 percent of companies which lose their data in a disaster never re-open for business, and 90 percent are out of business all together within two years. Only LiveVault delivers 100 percent guaranteed data recovery, continuous backups and automatic offsite data protection. As part of this alliance, the Nashville Technology Council will promote LiveVault as its preferred online data backup and recovery solution for its clients.

Together, Data Mountain’s LiveVault and the Nashville Technology Council will deliver this powerful advantage to members throughout the state: a cost-effective way of ensuring that critical business and customer data is kept safe from harm and fully recoverable in the event of a disaster,” said Bob Chaput, President and CEO, Data Mountain. “By partnering with the Nashville Technology Council, a trusted name in the community, we are now able to reach hundreds of at-risk companies and ensure that the data they depend on is protected against system failure, virus, human error or other disaster. We’re delighted to be working with the Nashville Technology Council to offer their members the most convenient and effective way to ensure that critical business data is absolutely safe, always recoverable and in compliance with today’s increasing government regulations."
