SysAdmin.it Joins Altaro Community Outreach Program

Getting 25 free Oops!Backup software licenses

Altaro Software, a new company in Malta aiming to be one of the leaders in the global backup and versioning software industry, announced the membership of the Italy-based Sysadmin.it community as part of the ACOP group. SysAdmin.it is an independent community of Microsoft-focused system administrators.

The ACOP group (Altaro Community Outreach Program) is an initiative aimed at assisting online IT communities that help thousands of people every day for free.

Altaro is pleased to present to Adriano Arrigo, Microsoft MVP (Most Valuable Professional) and administrator of the Italian based Sysadmin.it, 25 Free Oops!Backup licenses to give away to the community.

With over 8600 members and a constant stream of technical articles, SysAdmin.it is the most important Microsoft-focused community in Italy. We at Altaro are pleased to have SysAdmin.it as part of the Altaro Community Outreach Program. Through ACOP we will be helping SysAdmin.it to increase their brand coverage – and assistance they provide – by leveraging our Oops!Backup Software,” says David Vella, CEO, Altaro Software.

The SysAdmin.it community, launched in 2003, has over 8600 members, more than 2500 articles published and over 25,000 newsletter subscribers. In October 2009, during the launch of Windows 7 in Milan, a member of the community answered people’s questions about the new operating system; since 2008, three forum moderators had been awarded the MVP Award and in early 2010, in an official Microsoft event, the community held its first public speech about Windows 7, Windows 2008 R2 and MS SQL Server.

Adriano Arrigo says: “I had the opportunity to try Oops!Backup and it seems I finally found a program that is ideal for home users, offering a truly effective solution. Whilst being simple to use, it still makes available several important features such as integration with VSS (Volume Shadow Copy) that are well sought-after by IT pros, but not very popular with home users. This means that notwithstanding its ease-of-use, Oops!Backup can also be readily used in a corporate environment, offering features like rich reporting amongst others.”
