This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on February 22, 2010 at 3:19 pmCrossroads Systems, Inc. announced the release of ReadVerify Appliance 3.1, the company’s latest version of its tape backup monitoring solution.
ReadVerify Appliance is the only solution on the market that allows storage administrators to proactively monitor, manage and optimize the integrity, performance and utilization of their tape storage environments. Version 3.1 now also offers the ability to monitor multiple libraries from a single point of view within the same data center – further enhancing monitoring capabilities and significantly decreasing costs associated with failing or inefficient tape systems.
As real-time reporting, optimization and transparency become more critical with increased use of cloud computing, RVA 3.1 offers Web-based access to storage administrators so that they can best manage tape libraries, drives, and media in real-time. In this economy, companies are poised to grow organically through acquisitions which often result in extensive growth of tape storage environments. Storage administrators are now armed with a tool that centralizes the management, troubleshooting and reporting of their suddenly exploding environments.
Combined with optional ArchiveVerify technology, ReadVerify Appliance 3.1 expands its monitoring reach while also validating the readability and restorability of data using a rich set of user-defined policies throughout the data center. An additional benefit is less use of rack space and reduced tape media wastage, thus creating a greener facility. ReadVerify Appliance 3.1 also offers significant assistance with migration strategies, as one ReadVerify Appliance can now provide a comprehensive assessment of an entire tape backup environment, where it stands today, and what may be needed tomorrow.
"As the most advanced tape monitoring and management solution available, ReadVerify Appliance 3.1 arms data centers and their administrators with highly sought after management, time and cost-savings capabilities," said Rob Sims, President and CEO at Crossroads Systems. "Supporting multiple libraries through a centralized real-time reporting tool, RVA 3.1 users gain new insight that enables them to proactively manage their tape environment before it becomes a costly disaster. As data centers continue growing exponentially and heterogeneously, RVA is a key solution that reduces storage management resource requirements. It undoubtedly pays for itself within months."
