This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on February 19, 2010 at 2:57 pmDatacastle, in business resiliency solutions for the mobile workforce, announced that Redstor,
UK’s backup and recovery provider for the education sector, has
selected Datacastle RED to power the new mobile data protection service
Redstor Protector.
Redstor cited a superior encryption model and comprehensive, integrated
feature set as the primary reasons for choosing Datacastle RED. Also
influencing the decision was Datacastle’s support for cloud-based
multi-tenant environments, which will enable Redstor’s service provider
partners to quickly begin meeting their customers’ PC and laptop data
protection needs.
“Data security, regulatory compliance and ease of
implementation were important factors for us as we evaluated options
for our mobile data protection and recovery solution,” said Tony Ruane, Redstor’s business development director. “Redstor
Protector powered by Datacastle RED will enable our partners and
customers to prevent data security risks, respond to disasters big or
small, and stay out of the news headlines.”
Redstor Protector includes automatic PC backup and recovery, at rest
encryption, remote data deletion, port access control and device trace
in a single product suite delivered over the Redstor Storage Platform,
one of the largest service provider enabled storage clouds in the UK.
“As the engine behind the UK’s Backup Service for Schools,
Redstor has a track record of data protection leadership in the
education sector,” said Ron Faith, CEO of Datacastle. “Their
decision to power the new Redstor Protector with Datacastle RED is
further proof that our innovative approach to turning the vulnerable
information on laptops and desktops into resilient endpoint data that
can be encrypted, recovered and deleted via policy is resonating with
compliance sensitive industries.”
