Iplicity Converged Storage Environment
From IceWEB
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on February 16, 2010 at 3:39 pmIceWEB, Inc. announced that the Company’s Iplicity’ Unified Storage Platform has been proven to provide a true Converged Storage Environment (CSE).
Gary Dunham, SVP of Product Development for IceWEB said: "Iplicity was initially designed to provide either Storage Area Network (SAN) or Network Attached Storage (NAS) functionality. As our installed base of Iplicity users grew, their input to us was that their environments were not quite as simple as that. Clients requested that we give them the flexibility to provide SAN, NAS, and Direct Attached Storage (DAS) simultaneously from a single unified storage platform. We listened. Iplicity can now deliver all of those critical storage infrastructure solutions to our clients in a simple, scalable, easy to deploy and managed platform."
Dunham continued:" Iplicity now supports all of the major storage connectivity infrastructure scenarios, allows clients to connect to storage resources via the broadest range of protocols (CIFS, WEBDAV, NFS, FTP, NDMP, iSCSI, Wireless iSCSI/WiSCSI, and RSYNC), incorporates all of the business and mission critical features customers require; Unlimited Snapshots, Local and Remote Synchronous and Asynchronous replications, iSCSI Target & Initiator and many more. Iplicity also allows customers to re-purpose existing legacy storage, assimilate available space on other vendors’ storage hardware and by doing so, gain all of the rich feature set within the product to work with those more cumbersome and less feature rich products. The Iplicity suite truly represents the next generation architecture of data storage. We will continue to rapidly add features and functionality that our clients demand. We anticipate adding in-line data de-duplication at no charge in the next product release."
