Start-Up Sayagle Debuts Sayabit, Free Links-Based File Storage Web Service

Professionals and students alike can now leave the laptop behind and share files securely thanks to Sayabit – pronounced Say A BiT.

The service is a free links-based file storage web service which shortens and redirects long URLs while providing web and click analytics. Launching in beta, Sayabit also allows users to upload and share images, documents and videos securely for real-time conversion into trackable URLs.

Once registered, users will have access of up to 50MB of virtual storage, along with a unique root URL directory, which enables users to organize, store and transfer large files seamlessly via email, Twitter and Instant Messenger (IM), among others. And, since Sayabit provides companies or individuals users with password verification and historical data to track file usage and page views, security and file protection is never a concern.

Led by Ken Huang, a graduate of Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and Harvard University, and co-founder of WebNotes, Inc., Sayabit is powered by Sayagle, a Cambridge, Massachusetts start-up, which is planning the beta launch of a first of kind location-based social networking marketplace later on in Q4 of this year

• URL Shortener with Web Analytics – Shorten and redirect long URLs with web and click analytics that help users refine messages according to what the audience wants to hear based on click popularity and historical performance. All customized URLs will be recycled after 30 days and a random generated shortened URL will replace it. If a customized URL is taken, registered users may sign up on the waiting list and submit a bidding price (similar to purchasing a sub-domain name).
