Mark Shaw Storage Architect at Compellent
Coming from former UK customer Barhale Construction

Shaw will be responsible for the delivery, implementation and support of Compellent’s storage area network (SAN) in the UK, which is sold through the company’s 100 per cent channel-only sales model.
Shaw was previously Senior IT Engineer at Barhale Construction Plc where he was responsible for project design for IT infrastructure. In this role he oversaw the firm’s transition to next-generation storage, which involved implementing two Compellent SANs to reduce the data centre footprint, lower future server acquisition costs, gain more efficient storage and put in place an effective disaster recovery (DR) solution.
Commenting on this appointment Andy Hardy, managing director of international sales for Compellent, said: “Mark’s extensive knowledge of the Compellent storage platform will serve him well in this role. He has a deep technical understanding of SAN and systems architecture along with project, design and implementation skills. As demand for our storage solution continues to develop we are expanding our technical support teams to help our channel partners continue to win and grow their business.”
Prior to Barhale, Shaw was an IT Consultant with the National Association of Citizens Advice Bureau. With ten year’s experience in the public and private IT sector, Shaw has amassed a raft of technical knowledge and is VMware Certified, ITIL Qualified and a Microsoft Certified Professional.
