Trend Micro Security Added to Iomega External HDDs

Trend Micro and Iomega announced that Trend Micro’s security products will be added to Iomega’s industry-leading Protection Suite, which is bundled with Iomega hard drives shipped worldwide.

With the addition of Trend Micro Internet Security software solutions, consumers, small businesses and creative professionals purchasing Iomega portable and desktop hard drives will be able to choose between a subscription to Trend Micro Internet Security for PCs or a subscription to Trend Smart Surfing for Mac.  

By adding Trend Micro Internet Security solutions to its Protection Suite, Iomega delivers a superior combination of virus protection and physical drive durability that addresses the most common consumer concerns for the safety of their digital data stored on an external portable or desktop hard drive.

Trend Micro Internet Security and Trend Smart Surfing for Mac will be part of the Iomega Protection Suite that is bundled with Iomega hard drive products, including the Iomega Prestige and Iomega eGo portable hard drives, as well as the Iomega Prestige, Iomega eGo and Iomega UltraMax desktop hard drives.

Worldwide Availability
Trend Micro Internet Security and Trend Smart Surfing are expected to be available as part of the Iomega Protection Suite by the end of January 2010, wherever Iomega external hard drive products are sold. Customers will be able to activate and download the subscription from their computer by visiting the Iomega Protection Suite Web site after their purchase of an Iomega external hard drive.
