Support subtitle adjustment, Slideshow with BGM, Picasa Web Album, and Online Upgrade
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on January 12, 2010 at 3:36 pmQNAP Systems, Inc. announced an update to its Network Media Player, NMP-1000, providing new features like ‘Picasa Web Album’, ‘Multiple Resume’, ‘Improved Seek’, ‘Slideshow with BGM’, ‘Display and Subtitle Adjustment while playing the movie’, ‘Switchable Bluelight’ and ‘Online Upgrade’.
In this upgrade, the usability is highly enhanced. ‘Multiple Resume’ remembers the last viewing point, users can continue it instead of playback the movie from the start every time. QNAP also improves the ‘Seek’ function, now user can jump to a certain point with more friendly behavior. ‘Slideshow with Background Music’ adds the entertainment enjoyment, users can enjoy photo slideshow with its music collections. For the SHOUTcast internet radio services, it is searchable now, provides a quickest way to users to find the stations instead of browsing the list one by one. In addition, more internet services, v1.1.4 brings ‘Picasa Web Album’. Browsing your cloud-stored Picasa photo collections from TV is an easy task now. User can surf on the Picasa public album or log-in to access users’ private album. ‘Online Upgrade’ is also an addition to provide easier upgrading steps, NMP-1000 now can retrieve the available firmware from the internet and upgrade itself.
"We continuously invest our effort on the NMP-1000 to provide the up-to-date functionalities to make it a great home entertainment component, and we believe the NMP-1000 will be the main device to present users’ media collections," said Jimmy Tseng, Product Manager of QNAP Systems Inc.
The latest firmware v1.1.4 enables functions for better control like ‘Adjust Display Attribute’, ‘Adjust Subtitle Attribute’, and ‘Subtitle Time Shift’ while playing the movie, user now can have the instant feedback while the adjustment is made.
The NMP-1000 features advanced technology including HDMI 1.3 support, powerful Sigma Designs’ video/audio hardware decoders, and a host of advanced networking support hidden under the hood. The NMP-1000 connects to the home network via wired Ethernet (wireless adapter ready) and to an HDTV via HDMI or Component interfaces, or Composite & S-Video interfaces for standard-def TVs. The NMP-1000 is capable of playing back smooth Full HD 1080p video and crystal clear audio; turning digital picture slide shows, home videos, purchased content, and even shared iTunes libraries into a viewing/listening experience worthy of the living room. Set-up and the overall user experience of the NMP-1000 are exceptionally easy and enjoyable.
The ’10-foot’ user interface makes it a snap to select content for viewing with the included remote control, and the NMP-1000 supports a very wide range of formats for playing back digital pictures, videos, movies, and music.
Because the NMP-1000 incorporates technologies found in its popular Turbo NAS servers, it can also be used to automatically backup computers on the network and also for easy file storage and sharing.
By consisting of a TS-110, TS-210 or TS-410 Turbo NAS, NMP-1000 is providing the complete solution to maximize the benefits of your home theater facilities and bring a higher level of enjoyment. Both of the QNAP NAS and the NMP-1000 feature low power consumption and extremely silent operation in the home environment.
