The service, available now through HP as a 90-day trial subscription, helps consumers and small business users remain competitive by protecting their important business data.
"McAfee Total Protection Service is the industry’s first Security-as-a-Service solution offering always-on guard protection without additional investment in on-premise infrastructure," said Todd Gebhart, executive vice president and general manager of McAfee’s consumer and small business segment. "McAfee’s service is trusted and designed to deliver security that is always on, always ready and always up-to-date."
Total Protection Service from McAfee leverages the same software as a service (SaaS) technology that McAfee has used to protect consumers and business customers for more than ten years. Total Protection Service provides integrated endpoint, email and Web protection with access to SecurityCenter, an online console managed by McAfee and available over the Internet, providing organizations with more flexibility in management, reporting and design.
"Customers want to share important documents, photos and media files with the assurance that they are protected from viruses and spy ware," said Lee Johns, director of marketing, StorageWorks, HP. "When our customers access a file on their HP Data Vault device, McAfee Total Protection Service automatically scans and blocks viruses, spy ware, unwanted programs and other potential Internet threats to ensure greater security."
