For its USB 3.0 to SATA bridge
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on January 5, 2010 at 3:26 pmLucidPort Technology, Inc. announced that its USB300 has passed compliance and certification testing by the USB Implementers Forum (USB-IF) for SuperSpeed USB.
The USB300 is a single chip USB 3.0 to SATA-II bridge designed for external storage devices. Working with both existing mass storage drivers (BOT) and the new USB Attached SCSI (UAS) driver, the USB300 links any SATA drive to a PC’s USB port at Full Speed, Hi-Speed, or SuperSpeed.
As one of the first certified USB 3.0 devices, the USB300 enables consumer products delivering ten times the performance of Hi-Speed USB 2.0 while offering backward compatibility with the billions of USB-enabled PCs and peripheral devices in use today. The USB300 is shipping in production quantities with consumer products available now.
"We are excited to bring this next level of performance and capability to the consumer," said Reid Augustin, VP, Product Development at LucidPort. "We appreciate the hard work of our partners, and the staff at the USB-IF, for making this possible."
