This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on December 21, 2009 at 3:07 pmParagon Software Group has been selected by ASUSTeK Computer, Inc. to develop an end-to-end solution that will provide home and business networks with access to Windows NTFS formatted storage from ASUS Linux-based hardware.
ASUS, a technology company with a global staff of more than ten thousand, and one of the world’s top R&D teams, is renowned for high-quality products and cutting-edge innovation. ASUS has already integrated Paragon NTFS for Linux into its next-generation wireless network products – including the ASUS RT-N16 Wireless-N Gigabit router. The joint hardware/software solution will allow customers to attach and access their Windows NTFS-formatted storage via ASUS Linux-based wireless network products.
Chosen by ASUS for the unparalleled cross-platform support it provides, Paragon’s NTFS for Linux enables full read/write access to externally attached Windows (NTFS-formatted) hard drives attached to ASUS Linux-based devices – with the highest read/write performance in the market. Based on unique Paragon technology, the Paragon NTFS for Linux driver solves a real communication problem that exists due to the differences between Windows and Linux file systems.
"ASUS is pleased to partner with Paragon Software Group to deliver differentiating new technologies for our next generation of network products," noted Chen-I Shen, director of wireless R&D for ASUS. "Paragon’s NTFS for Linux is an embedded solution which will enable seamless communication with customers’ Windows NTFS-formatted hard drives when attached to ASUS Linux-based devices."
According to Tom Fedro, president for Paragon Software Group, "Paragon is committed to bridging the gap between operating systems, and NTFS for Linux is just one example of the technology we offer to do just that — providing true operating system independence by breaking down the barriers to cross-platform communication. ASUS has achieved great success in a very competitive industry by focusing on products that perfectly meet the needs of today’s digital home and office, and Paragon is happy to be playing a key role in helping to make that happen."
ASUS products powered by Paragon NTFS for Linux are available on retail shelves in time for the holiday season.
