Entiera Selects Xiotech Emprise 7000

Xiotech Corporation announced that Entiera, Inc. recently implemented an Emprise 7000 storage system, powered by Intelligent Storage Element (ISE) technology, to increase efficiency in its data center through the system’s unique ability to easily manage storage in virtual environments and deliver best-in-class usable capacity.  

Headquartered in Minneapolis, Entiera is a leading software-as-a-services marketing automation company with three offices in the U.S., one in the United Kingdom and one in Thailand. Entiera battled severe server sprawl, inefficient management and slow performance, and needed a new storage system that would greatly simplify the operation of its data center. The organization identified Emprise 7000, featuring self-healing ISE technology and the Virtual View storage management tool, as the best solution for its needs. Also, its ability to deliver 100 percent usable storage capacity with no vendor holdbacks or drops in performance was especially attractive.

"We were at a point where we had more servers than people. We just couldn’t sustain that, so we researched SAN options and felt Emprise 7000 was the best choice," said Jeff Wilkins, chief technology officer of Entiera. "After deploying the system and virtualizing our servers, we cut our number of servers from 60 to 10. So the usable capacity has been huge for us, and the Virtual View management tool allows us to provision and manage that storage in just a few clicks. The amount of time that has freed up for us to spend on other projects is remarkable."

Emprise 7000 supports up to 64 ISE (1,024 terabytes) and is managed by dual controllers. It features the Web Services-based ICON Manager user interface with Virtual View for managing storage in virtualized server environments, a distributed cluster architecture, Intelligent Provisioning and a suite of data replication solutions.
