RedOrum Introducing ArchCloud Online Backup
An online backup cloud service
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on December 7, 2009 at 3:04 pmRedOrum introduces ArchCloud Online Backup as an online backup cloud service.
This service provides an easy way for people to backup and safeguard their data without any restrictions like file types and or file size limitations like many other various online backup services offered already. ArchCloud gives the user control of what they want to backup, when they want, securely over the internet.
Many of the stories about lost data are due to low end consumer hard drives, peripherals like external hard drives that have failed, soho NAS units with RAID that failed, computer software crashing causing corrupted data, hardware failures, disasters such as liquid spills, accidental deletion of data and so forth. The alternative solution was to turn to the ‘cloud’ or online service providers. However with this solution, there are those that would restrict file types, file sizes, and the cost to store them over time became very expensive for consumers and or small businesses. With that in mind, RedOrum has put together an intuitive, secure and easy to use online backup solution to be offered to all markets and users. It is packed with advanced features such as Continuous Data Protection (CDP) technology, flexible backup scheduler, in-file delta technology, security encryption, database modules, brick level backup and restore for Exchange, bare-metal recovery, web access to online backups and much more.
ArchCloud is offered in two flavors – Lite & Pro, each with similar advanced features and is installed on the system requiring the backup. ArchCloud Lite is compatible with Windows (all server workstation editions of 2000/XP/2003/Vista/7), Mac OS X (v10.3 or above) and ArchCloudTM Pro is compatible with all those covered in Lite plus Linux (Kernal 2.4 or above), NetWare (6.0 sp4/ 6.5 sp1 or above), UNIX (Solaris, AIX, HP-UX, FreeBSD). Both editions are priced by storage, so as the customer, you choose which tier storage you want.
The backbone of ArchCloud is housed in a 80,000 square-foot data center which is one of the fastest-growing data center co-location company in Southern California; Tier 4, Certified data center, with N+1 (or greater) redundancy in all the data center systems, including bandwidth, power, HVAC, fire suppression and security. It is a SAS 70 Type II compliant facility that features an impressive 12+ Megawatts of power. The center is second in queue to power up after emergency and federal systems. Subscribers will have a peace in mind that their data is safe in this secured fortress.
