India’s HCL Unveils Data Center Services

To be delivered from its new center in New Jersey

HCL Technologies Ltd. (HCL), India’s IT services company, unveiled a new suite of data center services consisting of Managed Storage Service, Managed Back Service, Offsite-Vaulting Services, Virtualization-as-a-service, Cloud Services for Testing & Development Environment, Disaster Recovery and Mainframe Management Services.

These services are shrink-wrapped based on the ITIL Service Catalog and provide enterprises the option of device-based utility pricing.

The NextGen DC Services will be delivered from HCL’s Tier III green data center in New Jersey (NJ), USA. This data center will also provide hosting and co-location services as an additional value-add to potential, as well as existing, infrastructure outsourcing customers of HCL. For these customers, HCL would take on the responsibility for the management and monitoring of IT assets along with ancillary services including intelligent hands and feet, facilities reporting and asset management.

"Our new suite of services provide enterprises with hybrid and right-shore delivery models to bring scalability and flexibility in their computing environment," said R Srikrishna, Executive Vice President & Worldwide Head of Sales, HCL Technologies Infrastructure Services Division. "Coupled with our globally acknowledged IT Operations Management Services these value-added offerings promise transformational, non-linear management of enterprise data center assets at significantly reduced costs."

"These services are also the immediate manifestation of the longer term opportunity for a series of cloud-based services which we see impacting the data center space," he added.

HCL’s NJ data center is a 35,000 square foot Tier III equivalent boasting of best-of-breed eco-friendly technologies from leading solution/technology vendors and world class certifications. This facility has been designed for mission critical systems conforming to the Uptime Institute’s TIER III guidelines. Additionally, the facility follows the LEED guidelines established by U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC).

HCL Infrastructure Services Division manages 350,000 data center devices and 21,000 TB of storage for 60+ Fortune/Global 1000 customers. It boasts of a robust partner ecosystem in the data center space consisting of world leaders like SunGard, Equinix, Verizon, VMware, Microsoft, Cisco, and EMC.
