Comments
This unknown company launched an impressive self-powered docking station with a remarkable design and that can be installed under a notebook with USB and FW ports. It's perfect for an Apple MacBook Pro.
It contains not only all the interfaces you need but also gives to your machine additional power. Each removable HDD, named sMod, costs $130 for 500GB. An external battery bMod is priced at $100, and there will be also in the future the possibility to charge an iPod.
The DeskBook Pro is connected to the computer over FireWire 800 and USB 2.0 simultaneously.
It also contains a flash card reader. An extra monitor connected to the DVI port can be added, with a resolution up to 1920x1080.
Even at a weight of 1.8kg (2.5kg for a 15-inch MacBook Pro) with two HDDs, you get here all you need to travel with your computer.
I have a dream: Apple integrating just a processor, a screen and a keyboard into this docking station.
