On November 11, two Israeli VCs, JVP and Giza announced an investment in XtremIO for an A-round. JVP is an investor in Sepaton and also put money into Precise Software (acquired by Veritas). Giza was also involved in Precise.
Main executives:
The company’s founders are Ehud Rokach, Yaron Segev, Shachar Frank, Prof. Shuki Bruck and Aryeh Mergi.
CEO Rokach is the former CEO of Corrigent Systems, a carrier Ethernet switching provider, and was operation manager of Orckit.
Segev was VP of development of Voltaire.
Mergi was executive VP of business development at M-Systems<;
Shuki Barock, founder of Rainfinity, acquired by EMC, is also involved in the company.
Product:
XtremDisk, a high speed, tier-zero SSD based storage appliance.
Comments
There are several companies and start-ups already into storage systems based on SSDs. Wait to know how XtremIO will differentiate with its XtremDisk when the company will be out of stealth mode.
