iQstor Networks Qualifies Hitachi 2TB HDDs
For its iQ2880 and iQ2850 storage systems and J2880 switch JBOD
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on November 27, 2009 at 3:38 pmiQstor Networks, Inc., developer of intelligent and integrated Storage Area Network (SAN) solutions, has qualified the Hitachi GST’s enterprise-class 7,200 RPM 2TB Ultrastar A7K2000 hard disk drive. Hitachi’s Ultrastar A7K2000 2TB hard drives have been fully integrated for use with its iQ2880 4Gb/s FC and iQ2850 iSCSI storage systems and the J2880 Switched JBOD (SBOD) disk expansion enclosure.
“We are pleased to qualify Hitachi’s 2TB disk drive for use with our intelligent storage systems for the enterprise data center, which scale to 480TB total storage capacity,” said Jason Lo, president and CEO of iQstor Networks. “We are committed to delivering to our customers the highest level of investment protection and the iQ2880 and iQ2850 storage systems and J2880 SBOD offer vastly improved performance and increased capacity while maintaining our promise of delivering cost-effective storage solutions that are easy to deploy, easy to manage and easy to scale.”
iQstor’s iQ2880 and iQ2850 are scalable, affordable, simple to use and self-managing storage systems with enterprise-level features including volume management-based virtualization, snapshot, volume-copy, remote replication, policy-based capacity expansion, database agents and multipath drivers. Both the iQ2880 and iQ2850 support fifteen 2TB SATA drives providing 30TB of redundant, fault tolerant storage capacity and scale to 480TB through connectivity with the J2880 SBOD disk enclosure.
The modular J2880 SBOD enables IT administrators to quickly and cost-effectively optimize and scale their storage solutions, enabling enterprises to grow their network storage from a small expansion system to very large tiered-storage SAN systems. Easily connected to iQ2880/iQ2850 subsystems, each 19” 3U rack mountable J2880 includes fifteen disk drives for a total capacity of 30TB.
