Raidon Unleashes InTANK iS2880 Series

RAIDON Technology, Inc. announced the release of InTANK-iS2880 8-bay SAS/SATA JBOD internal storage solution providing big capacity, consistent performance with less volume occupied for system integrators. Coming with two types of connectivity delivers the flexibility of upgrading to RAID system with SAS or SATA RAID card according to the users’ demand.

The compact size InTANK iS2880 series required two CD-ROM bays alone and it possessing eight 2.5-inch 15mm hard drive tray modules accept all kinds of 2.5-inch hard drives and further to enterprise standard hard drives providing high rotation rate and steady performance are allowed to install as well. Furthermore, using eight 2.5-inch hard drives under JBOD mode can offer total 8TB decent capacity with less power consumption. Users requiring RAID protection simply need an extra SATA or SAS RAID card to get upgrade function.

In-built two 6cm cooling fans and covered with aluminum case keep InTANK iS2880 series to work in the lower temperature. The alarm of fan failed, overheat and hard drive failed will be notified through different LED indicators. The aluminum trays are high temperature resistance and the tray locks are designed on the front panel in order to keep the hard drive fixed in the case firmly.

InTANK iS2880 series come with two kinds of host interface, iS2880-8S-S2D and iS2880-8S-U5D. The former iS2880-8S-S2D is set with two port-multiplier SATA port and power supplied from two big 4ping power connectors. The later iS2880-8S-U5D holds two miniSAS ports to provide sufficient performance; power is supplied by three 4ping power connectors.
