A dedicated Storage Server that is based on Windows technology, Windows Storage Server 2008 is designed to offer its users reliability and ease of integration at a great value.

Some of the standout features of the Windows Storage Server 2008 operating system include flexibility, easier file management, cost effective performance, single instance storage (SIS) v2 which eliminates duplicate files on data volumes and reduces disk space consumption, iSCSI (storage over the Ethernet) Software Target version 3.2 which can be optionally installed on top of Windows Storage Server 2008, file server optimization, remote storage management online, improved failover clustering, windows file sharing, network file system (NFS), file server resource manager, DFS namespace and DFS replication, and BitLocker Drive Encryption for protection against theft.
