Amsterdam City Archives Opt for HDS

Hitachi Data Systems supplied Amsterdam City Archives with a new digital archive depository to house its 8 million digital archive documents and private documents.

As well as storing and organising a huge amount of data, Hitachi data Systems and Data Matters also provided a system which could communicate with future systems and easily expand to store more data: although the archive currently stores 18 terabytes of data, it is capable of scaling up to 247 petabytes, all of which is replicated at a second location for continuity and recovery purposes.
