Tangent Announces DataCove 2.0 Email Archival Appliance
With advanced search and digital signing, up to 20TB
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on November 4, 2009 at 3:01 pmTangent, Inc. released DataCove 2.0, an enterprise class email archival appliance that gives the award-wining DataCove solutions numerous upgrades including faster search, reduced storage requirements, digital signing for increased security, and support for multiple mail systems.
DataCove is a simple plug and play email archival appliance that allows organizations of all sizes to index, archive, and instantly retrieve electronically stored information (emails, digital faxes and even instant messages).
DataCove 2.0 enhances the wide range of DataCove appliances which support from 250 to 40,000 users in small to large organizations.
One of the key features of the new software is faster search and retrieval since all searches are based on true search engine algorithms.
DataCove 2.0 also eases storage requirements through stubbing, which displays your inbox mail, but allows content to reside outside the mail server. Besides easing mail server storage requirements, DataCove 2.0 eliminates the need for a additional software client to view archived mail and provides a seamless integration with Exchange and Outlook.
Digital signing is a key new feature for customers who require increased security for long term e-mail storage. All e-mail is encrypted and permanently stored using internal encryption keys. Data can’t be deleted from the device and any changes to the data are logged with all old data still stored in the original format.
DataCove 2.0 also supports multiple mail systems, maximizes compression ratios to provide maximum storage and allows administrators to import all PST files directly without using a separate import program. The powerful software also features envelope journaling and has a new GUI design with advanced search queries.
"The tremendous growth of data, the complexity of compliant storage and the need for fast, granular retrieval of information from within networks with tens and hundreds of Terabytes of data, has created an overwhelming demand for a cost effective, long term archival solution like DataCove 2.0 for enterprise class networks," said Tangent Product Manager Preston Ewasiuk.
Pricing begins at $2,495 for the DataCove 250, which supports up to 250 users.
All of the DataCove products allow organizations to index archive and instantly retrieve electronically stored information (ESI) in compliance with new changes to Federal Rules of Civil Procedure (FRCP) and state civil rules for e-discovery.
DataCove has the reliability, processing power, data throughput and Tier 1 technical support that is critical for large scale compliance and archiving projects.
