Sun UK to Market VT-Loader for SMBs
A product from ID7
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on November 3, 2009 at 3:17 pmSun Microsystems UK will market ID7 Ltd’s VT-Loader solution, an affordable, feature rich, streamlined and flexible alternative to a full Virtual Tape Library (VTL) solution.
ID7 are the first to market a VTL solution aimed at the Smaller-Medium size company, a technology referred to as VT-Loader. Sun Microsystems UK are one of the first vendors to adopt the technology and have launched a range of ID7’s VT-Loader and disk based backup appliances within the UK to be marketed through its normal channel distribution model.
“VTL offers so many answers to today’s backup challenges, but it is simply out of economic reach for so many of the small and midlevel companies we talk to. ID7’s VT-L provides exactly what the market needs at cost point which is easily achievable in today’s climate,” commented Alan Rice, Sun Microsystems.
Sun Microsystems UK already offer a Virtual Tape Library range that starts at 24TB and view ID7’s VT-Loader as complementary and part of their commitment to address needs of the entire market. “We are marketing ID7’s products that range from 4TB to 24TB to address the needs of our small to medium customers,” added Alan.
“Sun’s decision to remarket our VT-Loader is clearly great news for us and the market’s response is extremely positive,” said Mark Klarzynski, ID7 MD. “We are seeing the rewards of a heavy investment and a lengthy design cycle, but the end results are changing the way storage is managed and delivering affordable solutions to the average smaller or mid-sized company, which until now have been out of their financial reach”.
